Hi, firstly, thank you very much for reading my profile in your busy schedule. I am a 30-year-old girl, single. I am currently working as a live-in caregiver under the live-in caregiver program in Calgary,Canada. I am looking forward to continue working as a live-in caregiver for a family in Calgary and would be willing to commit for almost 2 years for one same family, that should be till the summer of 2015. I am a non-smoking, cultivated, responsible, easy-going, sincere girl who is, additionally, a self starter. After graduated in department of law from university in China, I used to be a teacher in a training school in Beijing, China. I once worked for 1 year as an au pair for two Danish families in Denmark. Then I came back to my native country, China and completed a Six-Month Live-in Caregiver Training Course which fully meets the legal requirement of Canada Live-in Caregiver Program and is accepted by Canadian Nanny Association. Have got the Certificate of First Aid and Life Rescue ( CPR ) .Have been trained about knowledge of home safety, emergency handling, food and nutrition, childcare and elderly care and disabled care and how to handle with them, etc. Afterwards, I started to work as a live-in caregiver for a Canadian-British family in Shanghai, China, helping them to take care of their 3 girls, who are 3, 6, 8 years old respectively. I am currently working for a family( 2 girls, one is 5 years old and the other one will turn to 3 next month) . The old girl goes to preschool 3 times per week. I send her there in a big stroller together with the younger girl (I cannot leave her alone at home) by walking about 10 minutes. Then I take the younger girl to take a bus to join some play group. Afterwards, take a bus to come back to school with the younger girl to pick up the old girl and go back home together. Every Tuesday, I send two girls to do gymnastic inuniversity of Calgary by taking C-train. Every Thursday, I bring two girls to join the storytime in the near library and by bus and borrow some kids books by the way. Quite often, I take them to some playground, park, like princess island park, Calgary zoo or to some girls’ house to have a play date , depend on the work schedule or the Mother’s plan. My work time is from 8:00am to 5:00pm. I cook lunch (like pasta, rice, toast, salad or fruit) for the girls, hot milk, feed the young girl, prepare snack, help them to get dressed, and get ready for the preschool, gymnastic class or other activities. Besides, read stories to them, teach them about numbers and words, play puzzle or other kids game with them. Also, I act as a peace-keeper, to stop them from fighting or quarreling about toys, playing games. I am also responsible about vacuuming and washing the floor per week, tiding up girls room and doing laundry. My employer didn’t make a rule about the times of laundry per week. I just do it if the laundry basket is almost full. By the way, I have no too much experience about cooking dinner, especially westen cuisine, honestly speaking. I don't know how you think about it, but I should be honest to tell you this.
To be honest, there is no problem about the job itself between me and my current employer. If without the problem about accommodation, I think we will move on very well until I finally finish the Canada live-in caregiver program. No matter in the past, at present, or in future, I always appreciate their help. They did paper for me and got me here from a remote foreign country. My current employer family are planning to hire a live-out nanny because some problem happen to their house, there is no extra room for them to have a live-in caregiver. But due to the rule of the Canada live-in caregiver program, I must work as a “live-in” caregiver. It is illegal for me to live out. Due to which, I have to start looking for a new employer for me to finish the rest time of the live-in caregiver program. I am looking forward a nice, well-communicated family who will take the live-in caregiver program seriously, abide by the contract and rule of the live-in caregiver program, be qualified and would like to do a new LMO paper for me (cause this is very important to me), keep an employment with me for a well long and stable term( If you want to hire someone live-out or just for a short term, sorry we are not a good fit for each other). As a return, I will really focus on the job and help to ease their life.
I believe it is worth being kind and sincere in one’s life. I am open and having no border, I respect all noble-minded beliefs and would like to touch and accept new things. I know it is not so easy to choose the right person who you can trust and leave your children with. In my view, children need people to understand their emotions and their inner needs. Additionally they need support and encouragement. So the people accompanying children should be kind-hearted, which means loving, empathetic, patient, considerate, and responsible. For children, we should not only take care and supervise them according to their ages and characters but also help them establish good habits, grow up healthily in physical and emotional needs. Besides that, I think it is important to maintain some sense of structure in your family for your kids' sake. I will respect and take your disciplines.
Last but not least, as a live-in caregiver, I will respect your privacy and house rules, .
I take what I am doing and what I am going to do seriously.
Thank you again for reading my letter in your busy schedule.
Sincerely
Shasha
