I have worked with children from ages newborn to the age of 9, I have experience with anywhere from changing diapers and feedings to arts and crafts, reading books and experiencing learning in a fun and imaginative ways for the children to really grasp what they are learning about in life and even school. Homework help with the older children who are in school, tutoring and even just reflecting on what they learned that day. I have a background in environmental science which I have pursued due to my love of being outdoors. I enjoy being in nature and taking care of our environment. I have been a natural builder for the last couple of years and co-ordinated and taught in a Natural Building Internship this last summer at OUR Ecovillage in Shawnigan Lake. This helped me realize my love for teaching and how much I enjoy seeing people's and especially children's eyes light up when they learn something new. With this new found passion of teaching I have been looking into doing Waldorf teacher training next fall. I went to a Waldorf school for a few years when I was younger and I loved how we got to learn in different environments and were encouraged to be creative in many different ways. I would love to bring this creativity and love for the environment into working with children. I have also recently taken my doula training and I am on the path of becoming a certified DONA Doula.
